The CD2a is born. Almost completely new bike based on the early "sloper" model CB/CL175

The "new" CD-2a.
New chassis is from a CB160 sport. Most parts bolt right on, others will require some modification. Steering stem is about 7mm too short so I will move it up in the bottom clamp and reweld. Fiberglass tank fits better on this frame too.

Here we see the engine test fitted to the chassis. Engine is now a hi-bred combination of "sloper" and vertical 175 parts.  New intake manifolds will have to be fabricated and a new exhaust system.

I do not plan on bracing the frame except some additional sheet metal added to the swingarm pivot area. I will reweld all the seams and joints.
