rearset-5.JPG (9012 bytes) Close-up photo showing the inside of the right peg mount with the cotter pin in position. Cotter pin at the top of picture is to hold the brake rod on to the brake arm. This whole set up is constructed so that the pedal pivot shaft can be removed to replace the bushing or to change the pedal configuration. The brake arm is the typical cinch bolt setup with the cinch bolt intersecting a small groove ground in the shaft, this will prevent the arm from rotating on the shaft should the bolt loosen up for some reason.
rearset-4.JPG (13574 bytes) Photo showing the polished and mounted right side rear set. Barely visible in the photo is a brake pedal stop bolt. Look at the large hole at the rear of the mounting plate (next to the pivot shaft) in front of this large hole you will see a small bolt screwed into the plate, the brake pedal returns to this position when you take your foot off of it. The stop bolt is necessary to properly adjust the brake and so that the pedal always returns to the same position. The flat bar screwed the top of the plate runs over to the left side mounting plate where it is also bolted, this will be the mount for the battery box.
rearset-6.JPG (12216 bytes) Photo showing the left side peg mount on the bike for a trial fitment, in the background you see the right side mount. You can just barely see where the battery box mount bolts to the top of this left side mounting plate.
Rearset-7.JPG (36864 bytes) Rear set left side as of 2002.
Reduced the size and weight of foot pegs. Same with the gear shift peg. Knurled both so I don't have to have any rubber grips on them.
