Showing rear brake hub stay rod
(small horizontal lower tube). It is constructed of .049 wall 1/2" diameter CrMo
tube. Flattened on the ends in a vice and drilled for the appropriate bolts. Flattened
ends were filed to a neat radius. Here you can see the stay rod running from the brake arm
on the rear brake hub to the forward mount welded to the swingarm cross bar. |

A detail shot of the forward stay
rod mount. It is welded to the lower side of the swingarm cross bar. Mount is made of
1/4" thick mild steel flat stock. The mount is drilled to lighten and provide
alternate mounting points for the stay rod should the need arise. For competition the
brake stay rod bolts will have to be lock wired or cotter pinned for safety. |

brake shoes installed on the backing plate. The shoes came with new springs also. |
