CD-1 Goes Racing

A few hours before the race the CD-1 and the pit bike wait in one of the pit garages at New Hampshire International Speedway (NHIS). By the way, CD-1 comes from Clever Dog racing, the Clever Dog race team consist of Mary who is the rider, myself who is the builder, and our two Clever Dogs that can be seen else where on this web site. NHIS is a beautiful place to race with excellent facilities. As we busied ourselves in the pits putting the finishing touches on the bike we received much support, encouragement and enthusiasm from our fellow racers and passers by.

Just minutes before her race Mary poses next to the bike for a picture. She was quite apprehensive at this point, this being her first real race. We had checked out the competition and she would be facing well prepared bikes and experienced racers. Experience she would later learn is an important factor in 50cc racing where there is little room for error.
