2003 Post Season Notes
2003 was another good year. Mary takes home her second season championship and her second FIM Super Vintage 50cc Championship. Every year we get a little faster, every year the competition gets a little faster. There a some competitors that in the near future will be finishing bikes that should give us some problems. Water cooled two strokes, maybe even a Kriedler. The changes this year were for the better, the alloy cylinder, larger oil pump, new exhaust system, new forks and disk brake all added up to a faster bike. Not a lot faster, but still faster. As the bike gets developed farther each year it is getting more difficult to find more power. Although there are still improvements that can be made. Mary's riding has improved each year and I am now quite confident that she can get the most out of whatever equipment I supply her with.
Next year will be a big year. The plans are to campaign three race bikes. We will still be racing the small Honda, and my larger 175 Honda twin, but Mary will also be riding a 175 Honda twin. Both of us in the 200gp class, that should be interesting. I expect her to do well in the class, perhaps not win but give a respectable showing. It should also do much to help her hone her riding skills for use in the 50cc class. Stay tuned, and thanks for your support.
